Fatima Faridi
Associate Lawyer
Fatima Faridi is an Associate Lawyer at Loyens Law. She has practised family law in Ontario since her call to the bar in 2020, representing clients across Toronto, Peel Region, Halton Region and the Greater Toronto Area in matters that arise from separation and divorce.
Her practice focuses mainly on financial issues under Ontario’s Family Law Act and the federal Divorce Act, including property division, equalization of net family property, child support, spousal support and complex asset disputes. She also represents fathers in parenting matters, advocating for meaningful parenting time and fair decision-making responsibility that reflect the best interests of the child.
Fatima appears before the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice, guiding clients through conferences, motions and negotiated resolutions.
Financial and Parenting Matters
Separation often brings both major financial consequences and deeply personal parenting concerns. Fatima’s work includes:
- Analyzing property division and support claims
- Reviewing financial disclosure and business interests
- Positioning clients in equalization disputes
- Giving clear, practical advice focused on long-term outcomes
In parenting matters, she works to make sure fathers’ positions are put forward clearly and responsibly, so they can stay meaningfully involved in their children’s lives.
How She Works With Clients
Fatima believes good representation starts with listening. She takes time to understand each client’s priorities, concerns and long-term goals before building a legal plan. Her advice is straightforward and realistic, so clients can make informed decisions rather than reactive ones.
Professional Philosophy
Separation and parenting disputes call for thoughtful decisions. Fatima encourages clients to get informed early, understand their legal rights and obligations, and approach the process with a plan.
She often advises clients to consider how a neutral third party would view their actions and communications, and to keep organized records, including a parenting journal where appropriate.
